Reader Question: How Do I Fix My Chapped Lips?

I've been getting a lot of queries about helping dry zombie lips. The most important thing is to avoid medicated lip balms because they make the situation worse. Also, if you're a lip licker, stop immediately. Saliva has enzymes in it to break down food, and it goes to town on your lip tissue.

I recommend 100% natural lip balms, and I really like all-purpose face and body balms that I can also smear all over my nose in the winter.

A few good ones:
If it's a really dire situation, the product for eczema that I wrote about in my last post also comes in a lip balm size for chronic flakes.

  1. I have had ridiculously chapped lips these past few weeks, compounded with an irritated nose from a cold. I completely agree that a product you can smear on your nose too is great! After my regular lipbalms failed to provide relief,I've been using Yu-Be moisturizing skin cream. I also rub it on the skin above my lips. It has a weird taste because of the camphor oil but it feels so good and is not greasy or tacky at all. I highly recommend it!
