I was going to do a post about how I love Chanel Nail Colour in Khaki Rose, and how it's a fresh alternative to overdone gray, and how it's the hue of Dean & Deluca hot chocolate. Then I found out that, in the typical Chanel way, it was a limited edition shade and it's sold out everywhere.
So I made a rash decision. I'm going to give away my bottle to one lucky reader! I haven't even used it yet - I was going to go get a manicure with it tomorrow. But instead I'll keep it safe and sound in its little Chanel box until I send it off to the winner.
Do you want my bottle of Khaki Rose? Leave a comment below explaining why you simply MUST have it, and email your mailing address to beautytothepeople@gmail.com. I'll pick the most compelling argument and send you my bottle. You have until November 5th to enter. US ship only.

This color is beautiful!!! I am a beauty junkie but definitely cannot afford Chanel..I have never owned anything Chanel - not even cosmetics because I just simply can't justify the purchase right now. In the future I hope to be able to splurge (hopefully often!) but it would be amazing to have such a coveted product to call my own! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm between jobs and not only do i need a gratis pick me up, i need my nails polished perfectly for upcoming interviews! LOOOOVE this color!
ReplyDeleteI simply must have it because 1 - it is beautiful, 2 - it will get me out of my funky mood and, most importantly, 3 - it is probably the only hope to rescue my sad, in-desperate-need of a manicure nails. Pretty please?
ReplyDeleteTrue story....I wiped out on an escalator in vegas a few days ago while working a conference for a client. I went down, literally to my hands and cracked my toenail bad. I had to wear flip-flops for days...not so cute in Vegas. Last night I tried to fix it with nail glue from Rite Aid...big fat fail. My toenails need the love. = )
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this Khaki Rose Chanel nailpolish for it's perfect colour, not just the Chanel logo, and have been trying to get my hands on it ever since I heard about it's launch! However, living in the Netherlands has made this impossible because over here, the shade never even launched! After becoming certain of this, I tried to get it online, but no luck at all. I even looked on Ebay, but the fortunate buyers of this nail polish are not willing to sell it that easily (smart move of course). I was so committed to getting my hands on this lovely shade, but it seems as impossible as catching the moon. Reading your blogpost has given me a shimmer of hope, though! Maybe it will happen.
ReplyDeleteTo adequately express my longing I have adapted this poem by W.B. Yeats "The Secret Rose"
FAR-OFF, most secret, and rare Khaki Rose/
Enfold me in my hour of hours; where those/
Who sought thee in the Holy Selfridges/
Or in Harrods, dwell beyond the stir/
And tumult of defeated dreams; and deep/
Among pale, masacara-free eyelids, heavy with the sleep. / Women have named beauty. Thy great shade enfolds. / The greige and the red, the helms of ruby and gold/
Of the crowned Peter Philips; and the queen whose eyes / Saw the beautified Hands and Nails of the Chanel model rise/
In fashion vapour and make the torches shine;/
The proud dreaming queen flung the crown/
And sorrow away, and calling her assistants/
Dwelt among polish-stained wanderers in deep woods: / And she who sold couture, and house, and goods / And sought through lands and islands numberless years/
Until she found, with laughter and with tears/
A nailpolish of such shining loveliness/
That women threshed corn at midnight by a tress / A little stolen tress. I, too, await/
The hour of thy great fluid of love and beauty/
When shall the stars be blown about the sky/
Like the sparks blown out of a smithy and die?/
Surely thine hour has come, thy great fluid shines / Far-off, most secret, and rare Khaki Rose?
Oh I forgot to mention, I know the post says US ship only, but I thought I just had to try and I'm more than willing to pay for postage!
ReplyDeleteI've been admiring the Chanel Khaki Rose nail colour for awhile--it's gorgeous. Why must I have the color? My biggest challenge is finding the perfect shade that is muted and tasteful enough to wear in a professional setting yet fashionable enough to still be chic. If I see one get one more "business-woman red" mani I might scream. This is perfect solution to my nail dilemma!
ReplyDeleteah - "business-woman red" - ick
ReplyDeleteI know! It's a tradition that needs to end, pronto!
ReplyDeleteSince I started law school this fall one of my few remaining pleasures in life is to see my nail polish as I type for oh...15 hours a day. With Khaki Rose on my fingertips, I might just be able to get through the next month!
ReplyDeleteI really need this, because I hardly ever paint my finger nails, and I need to get with the program and this color would be perfect for me.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing giveaway. I don't know how to fight these cool girls for this polish, although I really, really want it. If it says anything, I actually tried to mix up my own version of this shade with disasterous results. There's brown polish all over the scale in my bathroom now. I just think it's such a chic shade that is still work-appropriate for my office.
ReplyDeleteI'll email my info to you now.
Thanks for the great giveaway!!! :)
DIY nail polish all over your scale. Funny.
ReplyDeleteOK I MUST HAVE THISSS. I must have it because all I have is overdone grey from Essie, OPI, China Glaze, etc. I need something new. MMMMM Dean and Deluca chocolate. YUMZ! Please pick me!
ReplyDeleteI really could use a break from my normal dusty pink.
ReplyDeleteI love all these entries from my stylish readers! Keep em coming!
ReplyDeleteBecause it's my birthday........
ReplyDeleteI am a fair-skinned fashion student on which no grey nail polish looks good. I thought this one might actually work, and then went to their website and saw that, of course, it is sold out. Please rescue me from all the unflattering greys out there!
ReplyDelete-Erika
Because I'm a poor student but one day I will change the world! The only Chanel item I own are my lovely Rx glasses and they are grand :)
ReplyDeleteI am sort of a conservative type in terms of makeup but I will do ANYTHING if it has the Chanel name on it -- I don't know if that;s a good thing but luckily it has been too expensive of a brand for me to afford that threat to come to life! I think this nail polish is exactly the color of my favourite lipstick though. Honestly, I love the nail and lips match combo. And I'm a poor student who has no other extracurriculars available than makeup!
I NEED the Khaki Rose Chanel nail polish because all I can usually afford is cheap drugstore polishes, but would LOVE to indulge in a luxurious polish that is such a beautiful color as well! (I would likely suffer less chippage so early on) I've also been trying to make an effort to be more fashionable lately and I think trying a trendy color like this will really kick my Fall fashion sense into gear! Please help me do this by picking me :)
ReplyDeleteI need the Khaki Rose Chanel nail polish because 1. My name is Chanel 2. I've been sick for a week straight and generally feel like crap 3. I'd love to have sleek, professional looking nails for work.
ReplyDeleteI love all these entries! How am I going to pick a winner???
ReplyDeleteWill you post who has won? I think we, eagerly waiting readers, would like to know. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this colour, and It would be great to win something as I have never won any give-aways on a blog before, I actually blogged about this CHANEL Nail polish on my blog a few weeks ago, and If i would win it it would be like little dream come true :))
