Eye makeup is dead. Last night at Fashion's Night Out here in NYC every third girl was wearing red lipstick on a bare face with nothing more than mascara on the eyes. (Um, including myself.) I spotted tomato, brick, berry, and crimson. I'm partial to Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Dragon Girl (a super bright, neon-ish red), and up until last week, I didn't have much company in the bold lips department. Those days are over!
Does that mean I'm over red? I can't decide. I love that lipstick has made a comeback but it's weird to see so many girls in one night sportin' bright red. Maybe I'll rotate in a darker, moodier color like Revlon lipstick in Blackberry and see how that feels.

I love this look, it is just the most classic, gorgeous thing. Not all of us can carry it off, unfortunately. If your mouth is too small and you were born with the dreaded hooded eyelids, what to do?!?!?
